Работа из дома - это замечательно!
Вот только работа из дома через VNC - это не только ценный мех способ управлять тем, что происходит на рабочем компьютере, но и колоссальная тренировка терпения и глазомера. Правда тут на помощь приходят UNIXовские навыки работать клавиатурой, а не мышкой, потому что попасть в нужную строчку меню мышкой через VNC - это надо быть эльфом или экстрасенсом, а я. увы, не то и не другое...

I work from home thru VNC without any problem.
It's traffic consuming, so I remove any eMule and other web applications during your work. It should help.

traffic consuming applications... The problem is that the application is in Java and the Windows (bless it) sees Java windows as picture - thus, when new dialog is opened or simple combo appears, all the screen is reshown and it takes a lot of time

It's even not a command prompt, but Alt-F->s->Alt-S->2 the simulation is running... Wait for the file to be loaded into simulator and do it again. Besides, you have seen the simulator, all the fields are small :(
